How Upside Radar handles personal information

Last updated 7 September 2026

The free Scan is local-first, not browser-only

Your working record is stored in your browser on the device you use. The configured Upside Radar engine receives the brief required to produce the result. The free Scan runs no public search, and the brief is not treated as public evidence or added to a public opportunity catalogue.

Information you choose to provide

A brief may include inside knowledge, trusted capabilities, operating geography, optional buyer access, preferences, time, investment comfort, or hard limits. Avoid entering unnecessary personal, medical, financial, or confidential third-party information.

Free Scan allowance

Upside Radar uses an opaque, essential browser cookie to provide one guest Scan and limit automated use of the available opportunity catalogue. Signed-in launch accounts currently receive three included Scans, and each purchased Decision Pack direction adds one more Scan credit. A Scan with no suitable match does not spend a credit. We separately limit repeated attempts over short periods using a hashed account or guest identifier. The cookie is not used for advertising, cross-site tracking, or browser fingerprinting.

Opportunity Watch

If no opportunity meets the fit threshold, you can explicitly ask to join Opportunity Watch. We save a compact, automatically redacted summary of the relevant inside knowledge, capability, geography, optional buyer access, preferences, and limits against your account so we can prioritise research and look for a future match. Email addresses, phone-like numbers, links, confidential search terms, and the full browser working record are not included in that demand signal. It is never published automatically or treated as evidence that an opportunity is valid. We use your account email only to notify you when a genuinely relevant direction is available, and every notification provides an unsubscribe link.

Research privacy

The free Scan does not perform current-source research. For a qualifying Scan direction, the Decision Pack opens a prepared source dossier; your brief does not trigger a new public search. If a future or locally configured custom-research mode is used, private terms are excluded from outbound queries. Public-source material retains provenance and limitations in either mode.

Test Window information

When you record a test, the observed result, counts, objections, and trust or compliance concerns are processed to suggest a reversible next action and saved with your paid workspace. They are not used to raise confidence, validate the opportunity, or add it to the opportunity catalogue automatically. Do not include unnecessary personal information or confidential third-party material.

Soft-launch feedback

If you send feedback, Upside Radar stores the report, your account or supplied email, consent, the page path and title, screen dimensions, status, and our resolution notes. The feedback control does not attach your Scan answers, page contents, a screenshot, browser history, or a raw IP address. We use the email only to acknowledge the report, communicate its review or resolution, and deliver any earned feedback reward. Do not put confidential or unnecessary personal information in the report.

Accounts and sign-in

Firebase Authentication handles Google and email/password sign-in. Upside Radar receives your Firebase account identifier, email, and optional display name; it does not receive or store your password. A random session cookie keeps you signed in. Only a one-way hash of that session token is stored with the account record.

Device storage and recovery

The free Scan keeps a working copy in browser storage. After a Decision Pack purchase, the paid workspace is also stored against your signed-in account in the Upside Radar customer database so it can be recovered on another device. Starting another Scan keeps existing paid Decision Packs and Test Windows available. Deleting a signed-in workspace is a separate action; exported copies remain under your control.

Deletion requests

The workspace delete control removes that working workspace and its Test Window reminders. It does not automatically erase your account, purchase record, original Pack revisions, payment records, exports, or every backup. For an account or personal-data deletion request, contact support. We will verify the request, confirm its scope, explain any records that must be retained, and confirm what was removed. A complete self-service account-erasure flow is not yet available.

Payment information

Secure checkout is handled by the configured payment provider. Upside Radar stores payment identifiers and entitlement status needed to activate and support the purchase, but does not store full card details.
